Nearest Accident and Emergency unit: The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro (telephone: 01872 250000). Follow the A39 to Truro, turn left at the first double mini-roundabout and then follow signs to the hospital (about 2 miles from the roundabout). Nearest minor injuries clinic: Falmouth Hospital (telephone: 01326 434700). Follow Bickland Water Road towards the A39 and turn right at the mini-roundabout down Trescobeas Road. Follow the road for about half a mile and the hospital is on the left hand side. Nearest doctor's surgery and pharmacy: Trescobeas Surgery (telephone: 01326 434888). Follow Bickland Water Road towards the A39 and turn right at the mini-roundabout down Trescobeas Road. Follow the road for about half a mile and the surgery and pharmacy are on the left hand side adjacent to each other (just past Falmouth Hospital). Doctor's Surgery open; Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm, Sat: 9am-1pm. Pharmacy open; Mon-Fri: 8am-6pm, Sat: 8.30am-11.30am. Nearest pub: Trelowarren Arms in Budock Water (1 mile), a real old Cornish gem which usually has more locals in it than tourists - unique for Cornwall. Turn left out of the Roscarrack Road entrance and go up the hill to a 'T' junction. Turn right at the junction and the pub is about half a mile further down the road on the right hand side. Serves great pub grub and has a pool table, Sky TV, darts, childrens' climbing frame etc. Also home to the local brass band - so you may hear them warming up! The Boslowick Inn is also worth a try. It's about the same distance as the Trelowarren Arms, but more 'commercial' - although it has a bigger childrens' play area. Turn left out of the Bickland Water Road entrance and it's signposted on the right hand side as you head towards the A39. Nearest restaurant: King Arthur's Meadery in Budock Water (2 miles), a Medieval themed family restaurant with average food (you've got to see the inside decor to believe it!). Turn left out of the Roscarrack Road entrance and go up the hill to a 'T' junction. Turn right at the junction and the restaurant is about a mile further down the road on the right hand side (telephone: 01326 377010). Nearest supermarket: Asda just off Kernick Roundabout on the A39 (3 miles). Go to the A39, turn left towards Truro and eventually you'll see Asda on the right hand side. Open most nights until at least 9.00pm. Nearest petrol station: Asda (as for supermarket above). Nearest cash machine: Asda (as for supermarket above). Nearest cycle hire shop: Aldridge Cycles, 1 Swanpool Street, Falmouth (telephone: 01326 318600) or Bissoe Tramways Cycle Hire - they have over 100 bikes and are open all year - Old Conns Works, Bissoe, Truro (telephone: 01872 870341).
